Hi my name is Kathi Albanese and I have been an animal fanatic for as long as I can remember.  Horses have always held a special place in my heart and I always found a way to be around them even when I didn't own any.  The best birthday I remember as a kid was when my parents got me a membership to the La Sierra University riding academy, they couldn't afford a horse but this was the next best thing and I was in heaven! 

But like happens life took over, I got married raised a daughter and a son. After Karrie and Anthony were out on their own I found I needed something to fill the time I had spent with them,  I kept going back to my dream of owning a horse.  The first horse I called my own was given to me by my best friend Karen Layman of Achin Acres Miniatures.  He was an Appaloosa named Poe and he was the perfect first horse!  He forgave me all my fumbling around, was the perfect friend to talk to when Karen wasn't available and loved me unconditionally, plus Karen and Poe taught me to drive which ultimately brought me to minis. 

I have been showing, raising and enjoying miniature horses since I got Kacee as a gift in 2004.  I can not express how important these wonderful animals have become in my life.  Everyone tells me how much work they are, but to me they are my therapy, my confidants, my friends...... my family.
